Diva of the week Lynn has been an admirer of stand up paddlers for over two years now and until very recently only watched them from the shore, wondering if she’d ever get out there on her own some day! Lynn is fearless on the page-she writes ads and marketing materials for clients all over the world for her company blumenfeld + fleming the leading advertsiting, marketing and design firm in the Hamptons, where she is a co-founder and Partner. She is even working on a novel! But water is another story. Lynn likes to look at the ocean, not dive into it, she’s not a great swimmer, all of which made her one of our most challenging, yet not atypical students.

Her maiden voyage was charmed as we glided along Three Mile Harbor. On her second lesson, however, crazy winds blew that humbled us all as we attempted to keep our noses into the wind, but Lynn prevailed and kept up with the group! Within 3 weeks, though, somehow we at Paddle Diva convinced her to try – the 7 mile Wahine paddle with Paddlers for Humanity. (and our team never left her side and though she came in last, she finished and raised over $1000 for The Retreat) Lynn was an actress and fronted a band, so she’s always been a bit of a diva – but she never thought she’d be a stand up paddler. She’s THRILLED!
